Has anyone heard of Davis-McCandless?

I have a 42' steel hull cutter rig that I bought really cheap 3 years ago and I wasn't able to get much back story on the history.

Does anyone recognize the design?

Has anyone heard of a designer named Davis?
or a Builder named McCandless?

The documentation has her being built in Urbanna, VA.

I'd be grateful for any info I can get.
