economy daysailer

Hi all;
Thanks to mcollins and his digital camera,I now have photos of my 300 dollar daysailer that I completed in june this year.He sent them to me in an e-mail.
Unfortunately due to my ignorance in all things computer I dont know how to get them from there to here.Is there a help link on this forum to assist the hopelessly uninformed?

Click on "go advanced" there go to manage extensions, and choose the photo from your computer. Post it.

Not only does she float,she planes like mad on a reach.Unfortunately,the antique car in the background is not mine,I use a ford escape to escape to the ramp.Mcollins took some shots with his cell phone the last time I went sailing,hopefully he will post those in the future.

yes its my own design,but I was influenced by the fine entry/wide beam aft of larger boats like the i550.However,I built it with conventional chine instead of tack and tape.Its built around 2 solid bulkheads and a 1/2 frame to help support the daggerboard trunk.

hey perm stress;
The main components are all home improvement material.I dont know if you have Home Depot or Lowes stores in Lithuania and I assume all dimensional lumber would be in metric measurements but I cut the sheer strakes from 1x4x16-(2 each) and the chines and keelson from 1x6x16 (yellow pine).The bulkheads are built up from 5/8 in pine sandwiched between two pcs of 3/16 meranti plywood.The hull frame is covered with 1/4 A/C fir ply (bottom and lower planking and 3/16 meranti (upper planking and foredeck)--I used a total of 7 sheets-4 fir and 3 meranti.The mast,sail,rudder and daggerboard were all salvaged from a 30 yr old Coronado 15 which I bought in 2001.The cost of these components were not included,and if bought new would have increased the cost several times.The boat is painted with exterior latex house paint.I plan to sand down and sheath with fiberglass next year,but since this was a new design,I didnt feel the extra cost was justified til I saw how well it performed.Now that I've sailed it several times in light air as well as heavy I feel my design was a success.The glassing will also add to the final cost but will still be thousands less than a comparable production boat.
