Forward swept keels

Funnily enough I'm contemplating a forward swept keel! (twin rudders too but no canard)

Will get someone with the know how to crunch some numbers, but can you generalize as to whether or not it was beneficial, will you do so again? thanks.

The problem with forward swept keel was: the foil should be very rigid, otherwise it is twisting.

Alik, How would the Pluto 800 compare to the Phuket Sports 8 in terms of speed?

Less weight is more speed; generally nothing else

Pluto800 is heavier (1200kg vs 850kg) and designed in 2000 for different Rules, where 1200kg was the lower limit.

As I remember, on Phuket8 there are bolted wings 2.45>3.03m; so total RM is higher as well.

Alik,

How difficult would it be to take the hull design of the K800, and put a higher performance rig and keel on the boat?

Like say, a rig with:

Main - 25.6 sqm
Jib - 16.0 sqm
Spinnaker - 94.0 sqm.

and a bulb keel with an 2.5 meter draft?

Can be done, but any sence?
Structure has to be revised.

I believe Bieker has a local source (local to him in WA State) who can provide the flat panels, pre-cut and ready to assemble.
