Delftship to Hullform Is anyone able to tell me how to get the offsets from Delftship into Hullform? If it can be done? I've tried about every option I can think of. Thanks Don

Do you mean export your hull to printings or another program? For that you need to buy the professional version of delfship (maybe knocking in open doors) I'm constructing a sailboat myself in delfship, guess i have to buy the profesional version when it comes to start building in less than a year.

Link: freeship-plus.land.ru In casee you're unaware of the history, Delftship used to be Freeship, but then Martijn went professional. The old Freeship is still available and has some features that were removed from the free Delftship (although the free Delftship has some (less useful IMHO) features that Freeship does not). Confused? When Martijn changed it to Delftship Victor took over running Freeship and has since added a load of resistance and powering stuff. I haven't tried downloading it since Victor took over. This is a thread on the software page of boatdesign where Victor announces new releases. Freeship can export as IGES, DXF and various other formats.

I seem to be able to export offsets from Delftship as "File","Export", "Offsets". It saves them as a text file. But when I try to open that file in Hullform it comes up short. Don

| Export your deftship design as DXF, I think the file's name is Buttocks.dxf The more offsets you have the more accurate the hull form, but within reason of course ![]() Open with a suitable 2D drawing program. Scale to size Select both of each corresponding half of each offset and group them so they stay a unit. Since you know how many offsets there are, they are just spaced evenly over the length you designed for, or if they are not spaced evenly you can get that distance info off some of the other output files. Keep in mind the very front of the hull is not there since it will be only a vertical line. The profile of the front you also get from one of the other DXF files, cannot remember the names, but all the information is there.

When I try to export as DXF all I seem to get is the "plan". I just have the Freeware, maybe that's the problem. It also might help if I knew exactly what a table of offsets was. I will try to find that somewhere. It just seemed to me that if I can export offsets from Delftship and import offsets to Hullform I should be able to get it to work. Don
