Coremat used in Sunfish (Phantom) I recently aquired a beat up Phantom sailboat (similar to sunfish). The styrafoam on the inside of the boat was badley broken and i needed to replace it, and also re-seal the deck to the hull so the boat is already in two pieces. i was wondering if anyone thought i would be better off using coremat to reinforce the boat rather than replacing the styrafoam. things to consider would be; Financial costs Ease of job Quality of job Any input on the matter pertaining to this or otherwise would be appreciated....

the foam is there as emergency bouyancy, rather than structual reinforcement. it be gluing in more styrofoam with sika or similar, quick, easy, cheap, functional. if you need structual reinforcemnts, any advice would involve more where, why and how type questions.

well the boat had styrafoam reinforcements (also buyancy i guess) but they all broke away, and i was just wondering if that was the easiest/only means of repairing the structure of the inside of the boat because ive read other boats use coremat instead, but i guess youre saying they still have styrafoam inside...?
