A sheet is the name of the line that controls a sail. The main sheet controls the main, the jib or genoa sheet does the same for the jib or genoa. A halyard will set and lower a sail and it takes the name of the sail, main halyard, jib halyard, etc. Is this what you are asking?

If you mean how the sail is attached to the deck, that used to be called a tack line, nowadays we use shackles and have shortened the term to Tack.
