bulb design of a sailing boat

What ressources are available to a student to assist in the bulb design of a sailing boat.

( free software on the net, doc, etc...)

Look for Strojnick's "Laminar Aircraft Design" and "Laminar Aircraft Aerodynamics" He discusses designing a laminar flow fuselage by taking a 2D airfoil section to the 3/2 power.

Also Ralph Carmichael (ralph@pdas.com) publishes a book on laminar flow bodies - he did much of the original research on low-drag axisymmetric shapes.
