| Building budgets Hi everyone, After some years owning sail yachts, I have decided to try my own buid. I'm new into this and I would like to have some guidance on what is the right way to structure the cost of building a sailing yacht. Over 100% total cost, what % of the cost should go to design, hull, interiors, etc? What are the right metrics to asses a budget?. Thank you all very much. |

| Look at this thread and then post no. 5, from Brian Island. That's a start. Use the search option to find more! http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/sho...4065#post24065 Good luck

| Also, get a copy of Jay Benford's book, Small Ships. He discusses design and building costs at length. In addition, the book "The Gougeon Brothers on Boat Construction" discusses how to estimate building costs. Eric
