Bruce Roberts 38

New to this forum. My husband built a Bruce Robert's 38 Off Shore sailboat. Acutally I think he will always be building it, but atleast it's in the water after 17 years of living in a boat yard. This was our first year racing her, but her rating is terrible. Due to the fact that there aren't that many out there to compare her with, we are stuck with a 168 rating. Tonight is the race awards ceremony and we're sure we will get the caboose award. We've contacted the designer Bruce Robert's and he suggested we go to a boat discussion group, so we're new at this but, this seems like a good one. It's time to renew our rating and we are trying to get it changed. Any suggestions?
