| 50' DeVries-Lentch Ketch Scaldis 1935 I am contemplating purchasing a 50' DeVries-Lentch ketch named Scaldis. She was built in 1935 by the DeVries-Lentch yard in Holland and is currently located at the west coast of the United States. Would anybody know anything about her history, sailing abilities, construction etc? Any information would be welcome. ![]() |

| Not from me...Just passing this on _______________________________________________________ Mike: SCALDIS is an historic vessel having been built for one of Hitlers henchmen. She's a large steel yacht with enough room on deck to hold a party for 25 persons. We've sailed in company several times but never aboard her so I can't comment first hand on her sailing qualities. Being a heavy steel yacht she probably needs a blow to get her going. However we barely managed to keep up to her in 20 knot winds. Good luck.
