Went to Change plugs in Inboard, water came out, What Now?

I have GMC cobra inboard and I found water in the engine when I went to change the plugs. The engine is hard to get to so I would like to know where to start looking for the problem and what preventitive measures I should take to make sure the water doesn't damage the engine any further. Thank you

If your lucky the water came from a exhaust manifold, some how backing/syphoning water into an open exhaust valve.

If your less lucky it could be cracked head , blown cylinder head gasket or cracked block.

I would change the oil IMMEDIATLY and get it running & warmed yp.

Then do a compression test , AND look for a reason it might be manifold water .

Stuck Vacume breaker?

Get a SMALL 12 vdc air compessor and MOST IMPORTANT, get a AIR PRESSURE REGULATOR to reduce the air pressure to 5# to 10# MAXIMUM. Do not go any furthur with what I say until you have both. Bought or made a sparkplug adapter to put the air pressure into a cylinder at -TOP DEAD CENTER- that was wet. Do it cold and then warm if possible. hopefully you will hear air hissing in the water cooled exhaust manifold to riser gasket joint. Replace the gasket. If the air leak sound is not there, see if you can hear it at a intake manifold gasket. Next is pull the heads- I would pull them a replace all gaskets as they are all probably going. Rich
