Velvet Drive 72C/ Mercruiser 6.2?

I am repowering because the old 5.7 is dead. The transmission is a Velvet Drive 72C and was recently rebuilt. I have come across a deal on a newer mercruiser 6.2 Horizon. I know it can turn more RPMs but not sure, maybe 5200 WOT. But will the Velvet drive handle this motor?

The Velvet Drive 72C is supposed to handle up to 475HP @4200 rpm, less HP at higher rpm,s. Provide adequate cooling (use a larger trans cooler)and it should be OK.
