Twin drive alignment...

What should the drive alignment be on twin 4.3 V6 Mercruisers in a 27' Sea Ray?
I was told they should have a slight toe-in to track straight.
I measured the drives at the transom and at the back of the drive. It came to 33" transom and 32.25" at the back of the drive.
Is this a proper alignment or not??
Thanks for your help....

You are on the ballpark. If the boat tracks well and doesn't over or understeer it is OK.

Wouldn't that be slightly toed out, exactly opposite of the prefered alignment?

Sorry, I read it backwards. The aft part of the drive should be farther apart. Look at the water exiting at the transom and it doesn't go straight back but at an angle.

OK, thanks for your help, I'll try to adjust them and see if it helps to track straight.

I have always wonderd if rudders should be set up with a toe in or toe out, does;nt it depend on prop rotation and other stuff. Ive often wondered about letting the rudder centralize its by undoing the connection while its running but I dar'nt do it.l

Water flow direction changes with speed.
