Trophy 2052 repower.

I have a 1998 Bayliner trophy 2052 that is fitted with a 3l - 135hp Mercruiser and Alpha 1 leg. I want to up the hp and it appears a V6 engine and manifolds etc will cost more rebuilt S/H than a V8 package as there is no so many around.
The boat is produced with a 220 MPI V6 so it should handle the power of a 305cuin 220 V8 but can anyone confirm weather it will fit. The V6 is 28" long and the V8 is 32" long.
I will also need to change the head gear ratio to 1.62 i presume from the 2 ratio it presently has.

Do you get those engines locally or are they all imported? PCM engines which are a direct replacement at lower cost.

Trohpy repower.

PCM do they do a direct replament for the mercruiser engine including belhousing mounts etc?
I have been looking in Australia and the US appear quiet a bit cheap in US even taking the exchange rate and frieght into account.
Do you know of anyone else offering direct replacment rebuilt engines?
