| thrust measurement LS, Besides torque meters, there are also thust sensors. What are the advantages for a ship owner to measure thrust as well. What kind of helpful information can be obtained, with this kind of measurement. Of course you can calculate propeller efficiency, but is it possible to plan maintenance. What are the disadvantages of such a system. DYV |

| Thrust = speed!!! Wouldnt speed be a good measurment? |

| Bad trim, fouling, cargo, ballast etc will influence the speed of the ship, but do not necessarily influence the thrust, or? Can thrust be a monitoring parameter on long term (for superintendent to plan maintenance) or short term (information to crew about efficiency) Could charterprices for example be based on thrust, is it possible to predict maintenance on thrust (as you can make eg. the distinction between hull and propeller fouling). |

| Do you mean a thrust sensor in the shaft?
