Little buzzers,-- you cant hear em over the wind, use a relay and a car horn --you will hear that.

Simple head lamp relay ---Halfords.

You will need to find a new place to stick a temp switch

The problem is that the temp could be high for many hours without noticing it--as long as the temp is below the switch temp.

Thers no substitute for a good driver.

the standard dashboard buzzers are loud enough
even a good driver may not have his eye at the temp gage all the time
mercury has T bits for hook-up

Well Ok,--- up to you, but thats what it is for,-- to look at.

I would start reducing power if the guage was getting over normal or even cutting the motor --An alarm wont go untill its hot,---too hot,--maybe too late.

Same or even worse is oil pressure.

Thers no substitute for a good driver.
