All gearboxes have an input and output shaft. As I understand it the post is about a secondary input shaft. Am I right?

if the input and output shafts were eliminated the gear box would be lighter and longer lasting not to mention no oil leaks

Yes !

Flywheel are now the rotor of the electric motor.

Just one clutch is needed.
