| outdrive problem with my Volvo 200 Hi, I just ran my 68 Donzi (Volvo 200 outdrive). My friend punched the throttle unexpectedly and scared the hell out of me. I told him not to excede 4000 rpm but he just thought he would test the thrust for fun. Anyway, the boat shot forward and ran fine after that for the rest of the run. I took it out again and when I went to accellerate, it would get up to about 2500 rmp and then it would seem like the prop was slipping. It would move forward, the engine would rev up but the boat wouldn't go any faster. I drained the lower unit oil and saw nothing. I have not pulled the prop. It runs fine at slow speed. My mechanic thinks I may have broken the hub on the prop. I am worried after reading Charlie's problems. Any thoughts or experieces anyone else has had with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!! -Andrew worthingtonantiques@yahoo.com |

| It's quite possible the rubber hub of your prop is simply damaged. This is easy for a prop shop to fix. Pull the prop and take a close look at the hub. Let us know how it goes.
