| Outboard Mounting Height When Using Bracket?? We're finally at the stage of our 28 Topaz project where we are going to mount the twin 225 outboards. We are building the alumnium bracket next week and are going to copy the type that are commonly used for many new boats. The only thing we are changing is the width because of the almost 10' beam, we want the engines spread a little to avoid the lift strakes too. The setback will be 29". I know that when mounting an outboard on the transom the cavitation plate should be even with the bottom, but where should they be when set back 29" from the transom? Any input would sure be welcome! Thanks, Chris ![]() |
