keeping props clean

I operate Arneson drives in the warm waters of the Mediterranean and to minimise marine growth on the props (the boat spends a lot of time in the marina) I am considering covering them to prevent sunlight . I have thought of using a simple bag of dark material which I can easily place from the swim platform when not in use. Can any one see a down side to this?

Forgetting to take the covers off before getting underway . Seriously though, I really can't think of any other than having to get wet to remove the covers, which will get pretty slimy themselves.
