GM 7.4 head gaskets

I was rebuilding a 7.4 today had been rebuilt poorly. It only lasted about 120 hours. One thing I noticed, is that the automotive head gaskets, besides being of a different material have bigger and more water passages. This would be difficult to point out unless you put them side to side. Also, graphite gaskets seem to be more durable and have less failure.
