The article I read went a step further to suggest that the water disperses the exhaust and for diesels in particular that particulates simply float.

There is the oldest cure. Run the Diesel exhausts up a vertical stack so all the exhaust is either carried away on any course and wind speed or direction. Or at least diluted so much that the small amount to reach the deck is OK. Spring loaded " T " cutout exhaust valves would be normally T'ed up the stack at trolling speeds. Or use a electric or cable to move the valves manually whenever needed. Improvement is always possible.---------------------------How many think we can reduce the smell with " off the stock parts shelf " ? I have no idea if you can route the insulated pipes in a reasonable path. Still, look at it carefully before you chuck the idea. Everybody is entitled to 1, Neet O.

diesel engines have been going through rapid changes these last few years things are changing so fast.Diesels are geting better and better they will be huge in the auto industy soon in the states. And the quality of feul will be on par with europe in 2006 I hear. Stinky diesels will be a thing of the past.
