engine suppliers

howdy -

we are land-locked in the middle of west texas and are looking for a company to provide advice and engine/trans/harware/prop for a runabout we are building. we'd like to deal with a single source and would like a company that can help with the entire power plant and drive train selection and supply.

any recommendations?

if naming names is bad juju on the forum, can you point us in the right direction?

thanks

What type of drivetrain do you want? V-drive, straight inboard, I/O, jet?

small v8, straight inboard

nothing unusual except that the shaft angle is only 7 to 8 degrees and the shaft is longer than typical as the engine is a few feet farther forward than the typical ski boat scenario.

the design of hull and structual members is virtually complete and we are ready to detail engine/drivetrain clearances and mounting and need to make decisions on what we are going to use and source the equipment. 200 hp EFI engine, probably 1:1. we also need sources for shafts, logs, struts, etc.

our hope is to find a single source with in-house expertise.

Any of the marine engine suppliers can provide engine/tranny packages. Crusader, Mercruiser, PCM to name a few.
