drag of a hydrofoil

sir
i am a final year student of naval architecture doin my project on hydrofoils.now i am doin resistance calculations.how can i calculate the spray resistance of the struts.and shud i calculate wave drag for struts or for foils only.is it better 2 use gt or diesel engine?

If you're trying to figure powering and speed, you need to account for all possible sources of resistance. Hydrofoils are not an easy class of boats to design. Dig out your fluid mechanics textbook; most have at least some coverage of drag on foils.
