| OK, here is a quick image of how the guts of this thing look. The fairing pushed the prop away from the leg but will also support the bearing housing. The shaft is only long enough to mount the pulley. There should be room to sneak the belt past the pulley from the top. There will be fasteners through the bearing housing to hold the spacer in place. For those that have e-mailed or PM’ed me, this is as far as I have gotten. I am working on detailed drawings, feel free to develop your own and continue to comment on this idea.

| Really like what you're doing and look forward to future installments. Out of curiousity, which SeaBright design of William Atkin did you modify? - Ooops, never mind, Big Surprise. Unfortunately it's not listed on the AtkinBoatPlans website. Could you maybe do a quick scan of your modification or direct to a volume of Motor Boatings Ideal Series (if it was published there?). Well, duuuuh. Motor Boatings Ideal Series, Volume 38. Big Surprise. LOA 21'1", LWL 20', Beam 5'10", Draft 1'5", Power 24HP, Speed 18mph, jig headed knockabout auxiliary. Nice looking boat. Drop me an email if you'd like to correspond more on what you're doing. I'm currently working on modifications to Rescue Minor, a 19'6" SeaBright tunnel stern. ![]() |
