We are looking for a minimum height engine/drive for a fast power boat with moderate V. The cockpit layout shall be without stepos, the design very much like the lobster Picnic boats around 33'. I presume we need about 420 to 470 hp.
I presume that a single engine with simple shaft yields the best results, but I might be wrong, there must be so many other, not off the shelf solutions to get the sole level down! Your suggestions are very much appreciated. We are located in Germany, so dealer/mechanics contacts are also welcome.

Probably not from the discounters shelf this one, but is there a
reliyable source with all the systems with it, exhaust, electronics, andhas it got
emission certificates? We need those for the CE Certification.

This is a custom built engine. If your wallet is big enough, I'm sure they can get any certification you want. Reliable? If it was a reliable source you'd know about it already.

Check the unlimited hydroplane guys, they have those turbine jet engines from helicopters, pretty compact. Now you really need a big wallet.

What was your reason for rejecting the Mercruiser line of engines? They would be the obvious starting place, were they too tall? If a sterndrive is not suitable, you can use a V-drive to keep the engine in the stern.

What is the available space for the engine?

If the boat is to be marketed , using twin engines or a single with bow thruster and stern thruster so an unskilled operator can use a side stick to dock/manuver the boat will be required .
