Chrysler Marine Engines

I am considering buying a 1991 Ski Supreme that is powered by a Chrysler Series 300 SP engine, set up as a direct drive inboard. I also own a 1966 Chris Craft with twin Chrysler 318's. These engines have been bullet proof over the years and I'm trying to find out if the Series 300 is the same 318 block. Does anyone have any knowledge about this series engine?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm very happy to have found this site! My wife and I are constantly working on the Chris (33' of mahogany, V-spar varnish and sweat!) and this site appears to have a wealth of information regarding the resoration and maintainence of older boats.
