I really don't believe pulling it out of the water has anything to do with it. I Have had Qjets do this on my boats that stayed in the water. One day it was fine the next flooding. Make sure the fuel is clean, no water and do a nice rebuild on the carb.

me again

I just like last week had the carb rebuilt by a professional and the tank was done about three months ago and there is no water anywhere it acts like there is back pressure or could the starter be weak?

Acting like back pressure can only be a few things. Water leaking in from exhaust manifolds. Timing to far advanced or overheating. Overheating might be the answer if you use a hose while out of the water to cool the engine.

Could be. If you use a garden hose while on land you are feeding it water under pressure. While in the water the engine must pump it's own water. If you shove the outdrive in a barrel then it will be the same. So how are you cooling the engine when you run it on land?

I presume hooked to a pressurized garden hose? Well that is worlds different then the engine pumping it's own coolant. You can run an I/O with a blown water pump in the outdrive off a garden hose without overheating.
