| Are The Big Slow Turners Gone? Hey Lads Doin a little research on motoryachts circa 1920-30 and I love the hull styles. Problem is the days of the "New high speed diesel" are here. anybody know if Atlas or any of the big slow diesel manufactures still exist or are parts available? If I built a big cruiser like those It would be a must to have a 12,000# 200HP @ 300rpm power plant. The whole idea of a bridge deck with a telegraph "secretly modernized" would be better than sliced bread in my book! Some of you Pacific northwest guys have seen them I'm sure. I know I'm reaching here but would be interesting to know! Direct reverse and air start could be overcome I think with a little brain power. any leads for research are appreciated! 8Knots |

Some file in the back of my mind tells me they are connected to Detroit Diesel or at least are available in the US through them....Part of the MTU merger?......We'll see Thanks again 8 |
