I'm going to look at a boat this weekend. The owner claims it has a 460 Ford with a Berkley jet drive. What should I look for in the jet drive unit to tell if something is wrong?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    look for this

it the owner lets you take the bowl of and inspect the turbine for cracks and large chips broken off. if he let's you take the bowl of then look at the impeller make sure it is not crack or worn down. the clearance between the impeller and the housing should be minimal. if the impeller is chewed up a replacement from berkley for stock application is around 300-400 bucks not a disaster but not cheap.

    good luck
