airboat/gheenoe?

I saw something that i found quite clever and interesting while putting through the canals of central florida.

It was a gheenoe with a fan on the back! obviously it works similar to an airboat. unfortunaltely it wasnt the type of area where one would just walk onto a stranger's property to strike a conversation. the fan was maybe 2' in diameter and the gheenoe was 12'-13' long.

My quetion is what sort of power would you need to make this work? would 50cc cover it? or am i way off? the fan motor didnt apear to look any bigger.
