| Surface percing propeller matching problem Dear all, Now, I am evaluating a Boat (displ. 16,3 T) propelled with Surface piercing propeller ( Pitch : 28", diameter :23,5", and six blade). recent sea trial test result show that the engine (CAT 2 x 570 HP) is run in a overload condition for a normal speed operation. then i intend to make an evaluation especially the "matching" problem, thus i need an open water characteristics data for the propeller mentioned above. i've been searching for it and i haven't got it yet. where can i find this data? please, i need a help here.. thank you very much |

| Probably the pitch of the propeller is not correct. I don't know who is the manufacturer but if you send them the sea trial results indicating : 1) speed - rpm - temp exhaust gas - prop. system inclination they will modify the pitch of the propellers. (is not so complicated) The openwater of such piercing prop's are more complicated then the open for normal screws because the possibility to trim them. RANCHI Otto |
