Grandma Lucy is doing good she is living up in Tennesse with Jackie. I will tell them you said hello. Grandpa was all that when it came to boats but he could be a bear to. Its unfornate he did not have a son to pass his skills down to. Girls out number the boys in our family by far. Grandpa had 5 girls he rasied but only 2 of those where his but he raised them all as his own. He was a great man. As a girl I got to spend summers where ever him and grandma where living and building and the time. Hilton Head was my favorite with the fondest memories. I was doing some research for a story about grandpa when I came upon this forum. It brought up lots of great memories thanks guys. My only forum I am usally on is barrel racing.

yes I agree, I wish he would have passed the info on to those that worked for him but it was a secret. And in the day and age he grew up in, it was a very secretive business. I can remember driving from Daytona to St. Augustine with him and Kay telling me not to ask him any questions, don't even talk about boats while riding. It was very tough. I was told by Lucy for a 150 dollars an hour I could ask all the questions I wanted.

I still have his obituary hanging in my garage. Once again thanks for bring up his memory,
Bruce

To All, My Father finished the 7th grade and left Mainland in the 8th grade, as he was in trouble for defending his younger sister. But his education continued for the next 60 or so years, as he had so much natural intelligence, he continued to learn and to teach anyone that was willing to listen, or was privileged enough to be around him. I was truly blessed to be close to hime and work with him, and yes being a female, he would only teach you so much, he had a very high opinion of women and he was proud of that. I would growl at him and tell him he was shovenistic, he would raise his brow and I would go back into my office. He was loved and will be missed.
