| strenghening portlight holes for re-install of new Ahoy, I'm seeking advise on how to seal old portlight holes in 1" thick cabin wall to re-cut holes for installation of new portlights that are smaller in size than original holes. Thanks for any input  |

| I gather it's wood. The way to do it depends on a few factors. Will the flange of the new port cover the old hole or will some of the original opening be exposed? Is the cabin side varnished or painted? Is the wood plywood or solid? What is the reason you replaced the larger windows with smaller ones? It is going to be challenging to make the modification so that it looks right inside and out. |
