| Restoring the LOST PEARL Here I am a bit over a year into my 103' boat restoration and most is going well. When it came to the rebuild it was all about design. . I thought I would give you a few pic where I started. I'm sure some may have seen my boat before on another forum. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Right one year into her and this is where I am at ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| WOW, what a job you have done.........This must be a real work of LOVE. I hope you get all the pleasure of a lifetime out of all the work you have put into the project. Looks just great you have done a fine job. Hope to see the finished product when I'm in Nashville in the future. I'm sure the lady helped in many ways. A big congrats to both of you. Stan |

| Do you have any details of her history (the boat), she's an interesting looking motor vessel. I noted the Miele convection oven, I put the same unit in my ketch 2005 and never had a problem with it, runs off my genset or house batteries thru Victron Multi multi plus invertors. |

| I got my granite in, now I need put the stainless on my 48" sub zero and finish my cabinets. I like to cook there first and see what works best. I rebuilt it in place from an old thomasville sofa that I bought in 1999 was not easy to retie all the springs but I got it done Now things are moving fast and seeing things come together. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Simply because she was in the picture taken a year ago and now she's not in any of the pictures taken a year later. Also, because this often happens. And because I thought it was a rather clever play on words. Why do you ask? -Tom |

| WOW! What a fit out. The fo'cstle (or whatever it would be called) came out great and I can't believe that galley. I can only dream of such a fit out on a catamaran. The one great thing about a big mono is all that weight you can pile in. Amazing. Just amazing. Please post pics any time you get a chance. How did you redo that fo'cstle? I see new windows and it looks like you rebuilt the entire thing? Is it wood? Glass? What's that standard plywood up high on deck and on the tower doing? Temporary?

The hull is Aluminum but everything else is fiberglass over wood. That plywood is waiting to be fiberglassed. I will not have any wood on the outside to be painted. fo'cstle what is this |

I paided more then I should have but I am ok with what I paid. I looked at what it would cost to have a boat repowered with new cats and a new 30kw Norpro and I got her for less then what you could have it done for $125.000 Now in restoring her I already had many things that were needed and I know how to buy things cheaper then most. I can get my cherry lumber for $1.50 a bf beet that price anywhere in the us. My labor cost my $20.00 per day or less. Once again beat that price. I get many things like that and that is why I can restore this boat. One thing you have to understand this is a full time job seven days a week. The only time off is when I take the boat out and then it is all work until people show up and then it is still work. There very few people that could pull this off and I am one of them. |
