pp jet drive compatable engine?

hi, i have a dateline bounty 15ft with a pp jetdrive on it,-it looks as new with s/s impellor but i need to fit an engine to it. i have thought about a kawasaki 1000 shaft drive,but wonder if this is powerfull enough to run the large jet pump.-any ideas as to any suitable motors? -would a 1.8 turbo diesel rev enough?-any advice welcome.-many thanks,paul

these are GM marine blocks so parts are no problem in the US
