bow rails have now been cut and tacked together and gone off to be fully welded and polished.

when i get them back and fitted there will be a joining piece between the rails at the bow near the top.

the main forward part of the rails extends out quite a bit so that its level with the bowsprit and it also follows the shape of the boats bow.

the starboard rail will need a bit of a tweak when it gets fitted when the joining piece is welded in place.

bow rails and roof rails are now fitted along with the anchor bow plate.

bow rails just need the joining piece to be welded in place which will be done one day next week.

finally got the joining piece welded on to the bow rails today.

    wiring is 99% finished.

batteries are all wired up ready for the big switch on tomorrow.

    fingers crossed everything works.

still got quite a few jobs to do yet but hoping to launch end of the month if it all goes to plan.

    Jumping ahead a bit.
If you are christening with champaign I suggest you score the bottle with a hacksaw or glass cutter and fit a good steel strike zone. I have seen several christenings go bad... the bottle bounces off and/or does some damage.

won't be doing none of that mate as we'll be launching in secret to test the boat out.

if i tell people when and where launching quite a few will turn up and i want to get all the testing done and out of the way with no one around really.

still got plenty to do yet on the boat so may not even make end of the month but will deffo be in the water next month at the latest.

well today has been one of them days.

nothing went right at all today and i wish i stayed in bed.

started by getting 40 litres of fuel to put 20 in each.

also bought 2 primer bulbs to help fill the filters and get the fuel to the engines.

on fitting one of the primer bulbs and doing the jubilee clips up one end of it snapped off.

on the other side when fitting the bulb the elbow fitting on the tank snapped.

any way swapped bits about from tank to tank to get at least one side done so i can fire the engine up and when priming the fuel up the bulb itself leaks like a sieve from the fitting where the clip is fitted.

got to take both bulbs back so they can be changed over.

any way fired up one engine and it started on the button and sounded lovely and quiet even on muffs.

all the steering is now fitted and the system bled. works really well and feels nice and light.

made a start on sanding down the bulkhead.

its now all flat but needs a few gel repairs as i have sanded through the gel in couple places.

also took the cover down and gave the boat a quick wash.

Yeah those type of days nobody needs but ...

What a sweet boat!!! Love all that space in the back. Put a little air conditioner in that cabin and that would be one cushy little offshore fishing boat!!!!!!

    tell me about it mate.

every time i touched something it went wrong.

will end up costing me more money now to fix them but hey ho thats the way it goes i suppose.

deck space out the back for the size of boat is massive.

im going to make a cool box with seats on top which you can pick up and move around the deck as there are 4 hatches which i need access to so can have a fixed seat/cool box.

i ah ve fitted a small windscreen blower in the cabin to clear the main screen when it mists up a bit in there.

air conditioning would be nice but not really needed over here.

sorry for no updates lately as i have been busy working on other things.

the boat is now almost finished and ready to go in the water.

had an insurance surveyor out this morning to survey and value the boat.

he couldn't fault the boat at all and said it is one of the best built boats he has surveyed lately.

i will find out tomorrow what he has valued it at so fingers crossed he puts a good price on it.

he also said it would take much to code the boat to seafish spec for chartering the boat.

i should have the boat finished this week so i will post up some finished pics once done.

all i have left to do is seal around the windows , fit fuel shut off valves , fit folding seats in wheelhouse , finish cool box , fit a few stainless bits when there ready and fit a folding stainless ladder once thats made by the stainless fabricator.
