| New Option 2 Forum Even though Option One has not (yet) come to a conclusion, it was suggested that we create a new forum for Option 2. This forum will start as a place to generate some ideas for a new design project. It's hard to bring together enough people with enough time at the same time to take part in a project like this, but I think with Option One, even in the formative stages, many great ideas and interesting sketches were generated. I know I for one really enjoyed following the discussion which was generated and seeing so many great sketches posted. Is it time to start a new collaborative design project? What type of boat should it be this time? |

| How about a semi-submersible. They always have an exit above the water which makes, legally, a boat. It feels like a submarine to the crew though. I think they beat a glass bottom boat.

| We seem to have been discussing Yipster's ittle SWATH/SLICE beast for a while. Should we just continue down that path? Maybe specify a range as a target, or a duration period? |

| My 1st vote would be to finish O-1 before moving onto another collaborative design, maybe I'll have another go at rekindling some interest... Failing that I reckon we should all toss in some ideas, see what we come up with and take it from there. Yipsters beast is certainly an interesting project - one which I'm sure we will all follow with interest, but you could hardly describe it as the result of our combined ideas.....

| i dunt know... my "beast" started as option to option1 and make no mistake, your reservations and advice (sometimes seeking advice in regular threads) still echo's dayly trough my head. "watch your units / is it viable in this size / keep the bulb straight". was thinking of getting a timestamp, working things out takes time, money, burned fingers etc but cant see myself stamping. i also still like O1, do like gonzo's "bubble" idea, it has potential, but working things out is a helluvalot of work... "but the beast wil live!" yipster |

| I didn't intend to kill the beast with my idea. May we meet at sea ![]()

| beast? well it may kick me off, ask for more sandwiches and hp but lets call it a little bigger puppy... ehh, what ive been thinking of for some time is why not multi-options? if people are working some idea's out, forexample sailing dinghy, fourhulls, wingboat etc. it might make sense doing that collectivly helping eachother in more detail off the regular forums. maybe its possible for Boatdesign to associate with www.conceptboat.com and / or similar initiativ's developing more designs here and give insight on most entree's, on their site only some dozen are shown now. than again i think and talk to much, just do reality... yipster |

| http://www.conceptboat.com has a new competition open for the year 2004 and some of the 2003 designs -not the beast - are illustrated on their site. |
