| Interested in New Design Hello, We have been building composite boats/parts for nearly 40 years, primarily for US gov. We used to build quite a few recreational craft up to 55' but due to the economic times have not built any since 2006 and are getting "The Itch" to do a center console power boat between 19'-21', the following are the initial design requirements: - Ultra-light, but not designed with exotics in mind (aramid/epoxy/carbon) - Boats will be infused with VE/Glass Biax......high-end poly construcion - Should have a modern/cool/military look (i.e. "Wally" style with no teak) - Should be able to go top speed through any condition and survive - Designed around 200hp e-tec outboard - Interested in utilizing min length "Armstrong Bracket" (not in stone) - Good seating arrangement for entertaining/chillin' - Top speed of 50 - 60 mph - 100 man-hour build time - Fewer molds the better - Simple to build, spray, lay-up.....no rookie design mistakes (we've been there) - Should have a wind screen - Biggest Challange "Women should like it too" - We love "Buddy Davis Boats" Caorlina style bows - We like standard deep-vee hull shapes, but would be open to more radical proven ideas , i.e. hydrofoils, catamaran.......very efficient shapes...... This might be a great oppertunity for a student designer to get his/her start, name on a boat. If you think you have a design prepared that fits the bill, email me and we might be able to make it happen. Please include a few images/design breif. Cheers, Jack |

| Looks Great, A bit big for us and might have a tough time hitting 100 build hours! Love the stealth look.......very cool. |

| Actually it is aluminium boat, with foam collar... Not a RIB. Just a sample of what we did ![]() |

| Never seen a foam collar before......neat. If you have some other designs that are closer to the brief, I would be happy to pass them along to the boss. Thanks |

| Jack, Last I heard the Twin-Vee hull molds were sold at auction when the company went bankrupt. I currently own two of them, a 24, and a 26 footer, and while they don't have a military look, the boats are amazing. We use the 26' to fish as far off-shore as 60 miles, and have never had to slow down because of the boat, though some of the crew turned green on a run back from the fishing grounds at 35kn in 5 foot seas. If you could pick up the molds cheap it might be an interesting boat to take a look at.

| After Katrina they quickly became the favorites of fishing guides in Southern Louisiana. They are relatively cheap, very fuel efficient, and can take a pretty good beating. Actually my 24' is down in Jamaica running a dive operation 5 days a week for the last 3 years. We had a slight engine problem on one of the outboards, but the hull is still in almost new condition.

| It is not a "center console power boat between 19'-21' ", and I don't think you have realy looked at " Fewer molds the better" Wally boats are made of sharpe edges, and most of the designs you are showing are smooth and curved. We have here a very precise and clever outline specification, just let time to the correct person to see this thread. Alik's catamaran seems more in line with the project, but can this arrangement be downscaled to 19' ? not sure. |
