I suppose they know what they do (they designed the Allures too) , just when I saw the 3M keel the X-50 came into my mind with 3M keel too, but carries about 4,7T weight (Displ. 12,4T). So if you compare the ratios thats 0,24 vs 0,38. Quite a difference. Different type of boat too, of course.

Yes. I have no doubts about the inicial stability (the Azzuro hull will provide a lot more form stability) but you should take a look at the stability curve in what regards the AVS and the inverted stability.

If they provide you with a stability curve, I would like to take a look.

The stated displacement is for an empty standard boat, so it will vary depending on equipment.
Hopefully that makes some sense if compared to your calculations.

If stated displacement is for lightship condition, probably the GZ curve is also draw for that condition and that would be why I'm getting so high STIX numbers (even coming down to a downflooding angle of 110º I get a figure over 58, not 54). If this is so, then that curve is not a normative one to calculate STIX and has to be taken with care.

I think all of us would appreciate very much if boatbuilders were more precise about the conditions for which the stability information is given.

I'll be very grateful if you provide me with the info you can get from the boatyard regarding stability. Thanks in advance.

My two cents worth? Look seriously at a displacement power (cause I am old & lazy) cat. With narrow hulls, composite construction, 12m (39.37ft) waterline, modest engines should give 15knots and 1500 plus miles & lots of space with a beam of 21 feet. Weight is critical, definitely not good for "bower-birds" (accumulators of things - junk) but should allow 4.5 tonnes & 2 tonnes fuel ready to go. I am model testing at 1:10 scale now. direct contact OK
