The market here is bigger than the whole EU. Each region has its own peculiarities. As for suitable, people here expect more luxuries and electronics on a small boat than europeans usually do. Also, most boats have bigger engines and higher speed potential. Big V8 twin engines and several outboards (sometimes five) are fairly common.

I'd say this is the big question. If anyone had the answer to this, they'd be rolling them off as we speak. Market study, focus groups, data crunching, you take your best shot, but a question so broad as this, just can't be answered easily (or cheaply). If you're looking to bring a 25' to 30' yacht to market, paying to have the appropriate research preformed, seems a reasonable and prudent prerequisite, don't you think?

The centre console market in the US is glutted with boats. Go to a boat show. Rows and rows of them...like huge rent a car fleets. They all look the same.

You should do some research before you burn up your money.

Id say that you are most likely to succeed if you have an innovative style that is energy efficient .

Not the bog standard centre console.

I'd disagree in the efficiency realm. Pleasure boating isn't typically a place that has responded well, historically to these types of "adjustments". When the market recovers, folks will again want what they want, which is fast, fat and stuffed full of accommodations types of designs, which doesn't lend itself well to efficient design.

Then let the American domestic market respond to fast, furious and thirsty.

As a newcomer its more logical to stake out a unique niche , similar to that of the German car makers , who market products that the Americans cant produce.

Also consider that the climate change discussion is evolving fast. At present the EPA calculates that recreational boating in the US produces 375 million metric tons of C02 per year. Regulation will soon arrive to address this..

Additionally, Clients who wish to distinguish themselves from the unwashed masses, will pay a premium for a stylish , environmentally friendly boat.

This represents a good market niche and since centre consoles are popular it would be well worth studying.

My impression of RIBs in the US is that they are not well received. Ribs make Great yacht tenders, but are poor value as an all purpose centre console.

I know that it's a difficult question what boat is suitable for US market.
To make rib's about 33ft is ok for this market you think?

    Thanks

US citizens love center console, cuddy boats and bay boats.
I think the reason for them not liking ribs is because of the maintenance
needed to take care of the rubber.

If you're thinking of selling boats ranging from 25 to 30 feet, than I'll advice
you to search for a way to make a quality boat at a lower price.

I myself want to build boats and I've learned that there is a lot more to it
    than meets the eye.
