Apparantly the locals have responded to pressure and in a novel way. They have said anyone caught pirating will be punished under sharia law and either put to death or will be maimed.

These guys are more afraid of the local mad mullah than an F16 they cant see.

Would be handy to have an F16 close by. You have to pinch your nose close to talk to them though, they usually respond netter to co-pilots

Better make really sure they know which boat is yours and which belongs to the pirates

He he... St Peter, I told the pilot twice WE are the one with the black flag

pirates are everywhere,,great lakes ,ciggerette and drugs (prescription ,from canada),,,,illegal dope from the rivers and lakes ,,,,not to mention open sea,,,its like this ,,in ohio we have ccw law ,you can carry a conciled weapon ,with permits ,, or risk the out come of not having a weapon when the bad guys come ,,so it is clear to me ,,carry onboard,,,,,if ya get caught with it ,,what will they do ? probably very severe punishment ,,,so buy the 303 enfield ,,150 bucks ,,ak47 ,,300 bucks ,,12 gauge pump ,,250 ,,,and if ya have to ,,throw them overboard,,,,,,,,,thats the same as a few tanks of gas,,,,,,,get a spine and be prepard,,and remember ,,the bad guys dont play by the rules,,,longliner

totally agree there 'liner, but there again I've said that before somewhere! What's needed are simple short range weapons that spray a lot of stuff - shotgun, M10 etc! Blast the shell out of the buggers strip the boat when all are dead (only non identifiable stuff of course) and set fire to it using your flare gun! If you must report it dump all the weapons save the flare gun - thats legal of course! If going into port and not sure of the reception by customs etc waterproof your weapons and drop overboard just off shore with a bouy on 'em pick em up on the way out if you can, if you can't keep going! As long as there is no ID on the bag your OK Simple really!!

As for 'rules' there is only one - Survive!

walrus and liner are right, there are pirates everywhere and the best you can do is be ready to do something about it when it's your turn. i vote for a shot gun less prep time to get a shot at your target, more point and shoot and less aiming

On a vast piece of water someone else have no business getting close to you with their boat. The only time other boats are closeish is when they are all fishing an area, but never the less if another boat gets too close it becomes a safety risk as well.

If another boat shows interest, tell him to bugger off. If they fail to respond show them you mean it. If they hang around, report them. Not sure if they would respond to a charge of suspicion on suspicion...

Yeah but Fanie, in international waters who do you report him to? and who would pay any notice? No good calling "international rescue" when the are miles away - theres a time to talk and warn and a time to act, but when you do act it must be fast and loud - the shotgun is my action of choice, closely followed by some kind of machine carbine / sub machine gun! And a petrol bomb down the hatch! Trouble is the price of petrol these days..............(mind you with an outboard on board and those empty wine bottles how easy is it to make and who would know?)

Yes I agree Wallie, petrol bombs have become near unaffordable nowadays. Maybe one could make hydrogen bombs aboard using a solar panel and sea water...

Or think green and use Pine terpentine and good moonshine stirred (not shaked) Some Maizena and syrup to make it sticky. And popcorn make it more fun

yes Much I agree
some of my owners have cruised up there with no trouble
Charlie I spose you are off to buy your arsenal, now the supreme crt ruled, on an archaic 200 yr law that is no longer applicable to this day and age, Pirates are nowhere near as barbaric as some of you lot, particulary the lot from Virginia, , But hey I know YOU and Much are not advocates )

haha,,,the only piracy i advocate,,is rammin a lobster thief with a 50 cal.,,,then we jus usually shoot @ em from shore ,,,and if we put the seal on deck,,,we would jus chase em inland,,where they would drink all our beer hehe
