| Weight distribution on a raceboat? If you compare two simular boats. 1. Side by side seats 2. Driver in the front and the navigator behind in the middle. As a example a 7 m Race rib. Air resistance is one thing, and how much will the center of gravity do? |

| You can quite easily work out the effect on the CG, and hence static trim and running trim in calm water. It is harder to calculate the effect this will have on pitch motion in a seaway, which may be more important. The air resistance will primarily be affected by the frontal area of the crew. You may need to consider visibility and other constraints as well. Tim B.

| Thanks Tim. Not easy for me ![]() The the boat is the ribboat on my avatar, and the front area is big on this one. But how to calculate, when the tubes and the hull is there. Without tubes i understand it is easier... |
