| Weekender/Picnic PowerCat Looking thru some photos recently and this one caught my attention again. Just couldn't let these photos languish on my computer. These were taken in Thailand. I titled it weekender/picnic boat, but really she is large enough for a nice long cruise. |

| The vessel I posted actual has some accomodations in the hulls. Its just that the majority of the 'living' area (saloon, cooking, etc is up in this central 'between the hulls' covered deck space. (note there are 4 hatches down into the hulls) And the outboards were a cheaper, less intrusive manner to add power. Overall a nice concept....that could even lend itself to home building in composite ply. |

| Chris White powercat & Bertram 31 This 'style' vessel reminds me of the open saloon/cockpit style of this Chris White powercat ....that further reminded me of the original Bertram 31 design Chris's boat... |

| Nice 'Bertram' concept Hi, I'm in Stockholm and I am curious about the boat pictured as a 'modern' remake of a classic Bertram. Is this a commercial build or is it private? It looks good. Who can I contact for additional information? Regards, Jan Sundberg Stockholm, Sweden Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes |

| Or for something a little more modern... ![]() It is geared a little toward fishing, but who doesn't like fishing?

| Brian, the boat You posted is now used to carry tourists; seen them many times packed with people at KoKhram island. We designed 11m 'party boat' in 2007; but this one is completely open with plenty of shade, seating and airflow, toilet under steering console and L-shaped pantry at deck level. |

| USSWEDE, the Bertram concept you're looking at is actually a catamaran, built in Buzzard's Bay, Maine. More info here : www.buzzardsbaycats.com/ |

| 50' Gunboat (picnic/weekender)? Quote:
"Rather than several smaller spaces on the main deck chopped up by bulkheads, the Gunboat 50 has one huge uninterrupted space from the mast to the aft crossbeam. The space is entirely convertible. For daysailing or cruising in warm weather, the sides drop down for the ultimate outdoor feel. In inclement weather, the sides roll up to create a cozy cocoon, albeit with Gunboat’s unique 360 degree visibility. While many offerings in this size range stuff a mansion’s worth of un-used accommodations into the space, the Gunboat 50 shows ultimate restraint. There are simply two superyacht style cabins. Let’s face it, most people in this size range simply sail with their spouse, and on occasion, another couple. If the kids join the fun, they can sleep on the daybeds and sofas of the maindeck." http://www.gunboat.com/50-description.php The new Gunboat 50 is designed for the way we sail: +Entertaining friends on daysails +Shorthanded cruising with your spouse or maybe another couple +A sabbatical cruise, or a tropical circumnavigation |

The more I look at this concept the more I really like it. And it appears as though the newer Gunboat 55 is going along a similar route. I'll post some pics later. |
