Volvo Penta power trim question?

Hi boaters, I need some place to look for a problem that my power trim bleeds down after a hour or so? It is an 12 volt electric over hydrolic. I have no visable leaks? Is there a check valve of some sorts? It's a SP CD trim Volvo I/O. Thanks, as I'm not to much of a boat mechanic, AJ

Lil Aj,

The trim cylinder(s) may be leaking internally causing the drive to 'creep' down. If you don't presently use a local VP dealer now, check this website out for your nearest dealer:

If you don't see any oil leaks, it is an internall problem. The system needs to be pressure tested to isolate the problem. It can be one of the rams or the pump.
