A TugBoat

built of timber in 1889 Lake Union.
This is a beautiful tug boat.

Nice boat Daniel!

Another proof that wood can last some time, even in harsh conditions. (do´nt tell Brent)

Timber beats most, mild steel, fibre **** glass, ferro, , but hi ten and alu it can not outlast

We will see that in another 50 years. In fatigue resistance timber does outlast AL.

Morag Mror featured Yacht world 1959
built UK 1959 I saw her in St Maarten on hard, like new 50 years on, no maintenance,

Well my harbour police patrol boat (Museum ship) is from 1957, good condition, but of course extremely well maintained.

But thats not from 1889, right? And the fatigue issue is not to ignore.
