| Towing New Boat I own a 05 Dodge Dakota 4 Door 4wd.....Trailer Boats mags magazine listing for towing capacity shows it can tow 4400 lbs. Im buying a Bayliner 185. Total Boat and trailer is 2905 lbs. Add to that a full tank of gas and some "stuff" and I would say the total weight towed will be around 3200 or 3300 lbs. Does anyone have any comments or input? |

| Sounds great , but I would get it weighed at the local truck stop (about $6.00) when your ready to go. You may find you need an "equalizer " hitch and antisway bars to tow sway free at highway speeds. Usually a trailer needs 15% of the total weight on the hitch , and gas & a big outboard may make this hard. You will also need brakes on the trailer at these weights. Good fishing, FAST FRED |
