T-craft T-craft was founded by Rodney Thompson in the early 60's I think. It spawned a larger company called Thompson Trawlers. T-craft burned to the ground in about 1983--I don't remember the exact date. Rodney built good rugged powerboats and now runs the Dixie Crossroads restaurant in Titusville, Fl. a damn good seafood place if you like that sort of thing. He pioneered the harvesting and serving of Rock Shrimp.... By the way, Vectorworks a specialist tooling manufacturer now owns the property where Thompson Trawlers once was in Titusvile.

T-craft I have a 74' that i have to sell. Very solid boat with older pair of Merc 85hp OB's. Just put over $2000 into motors, they are in very nice cond. with near perfect compression. Nearly $5000 invested since I bought it a year ago, must sell quickly. Will consider all offers over $3000. Also includes 2-axle trailer(kind of rough, though I put 4 new tires on this week to expedite sale). Serious inqiries contact Mark @ (561)302-2349. I am in the West Palm Beach, Fl. area.

tcraft The trcraft where built to 1988 (give or take a year). factory shut down for an intersing reason, or thats what the police told us. We have a 24 foot, 9.6 ft beam. It has a rating of maximum pwr of 300hp, we have 225 evinrude with jackplate, pushes the boat with ease and runs loaded in 8-9 inches of water. Ours is an ex-drug boat (has all three gas tanks, with false floor. Florida suncoast marine of St. Petersburg Fl. is now reproducing the tcrafts under the name of Robin. Same boat, with better fiberglass and the option of no wood. Last edited by bethebobo : 04-22-2004 at 10:47 PM. Reason: forgot some info

1960 T-Craft 16ft. Runabout in mint condition with '85 45hp Evenrude Hi All, When I was a lil boy growing up in Merritt Island, Florida my Father used to take me catfishing on the St. Johns River where we would put in at Lone Cabbage fish camp. Thats back when the it was not unusual to catch 25 pound Blue Channel cats that were not contaminated with Mecury and Lead and it was with common frequency. We still have that same boat. My Dad is now 77 and I'm 44 and the boat sits in our garage most of the time and has gotten very little use over the years. However, ever now and then I will fire the engine up and take it out on the Indian River because there is nothing worse for a boat than to just let it sit to long idle. The story about Rodney Thompson being the owner and founder of T-Craft and now the owner of Dixie Crossroads Seafood Resturant is absolutely true. His boat factory did burn down and that put an end to the T-Craft line of small craft but he did go on to own/operate Thompson Twawlers for many years until he pioneered and engineered his own machinery and technique for the commercial preperation of rock shrimp which until then was thought as as trash catch. If any of you are ever in Brevard county shoot me an email at csmith2577@cfl.rr.com and we can go have lunch at one the the finest seafood places on the east coast of Florida, Dixie Crossroads and exchange fishing stories. It's great to reminiss about the old days and I'm still a very active angler and very successful on the flats with huge Reds, gator Trout, and Monster snook at Port Canaveral.

Beachcomber Info I am trying to find info regarding the Maximum Capacity rating for my boat. I have found a couple of web sites detailing a calculation for determing a recommended value, but I would like to find out if anyone owning the same boat knows this value. It is a 1978 24' Beachcomber w/ Hardtop. Thanks. Last edited by nukejr : 10-15-2006 at 09:27 PM. Reason: Added specific boat info
