Small O/B v-hull....design suggestions?

Hello all.

I work for a marina in northern MI as a mechanics apprentice. Last summer i built a 10' hydro and fitted a freshly rebuilt Johnson 15hp on it, the boat ran plenty fast and was a lot more stable than I thought it would be. I was laid off for the winter about 2 weeks ago and I'm considering building a 13-15' v hull (or semi-v) that seats two. i have a 40hp merc short shaft that I'm currently rebuilding and would like to use.

I have looked at the glen l. designs along with a plethora of designs Google turned up without finding anything I like. I would like something similar to the glen l "TNT" or "bullet" in a 13-15' length. A coworker suggested just building the boat and designing the hull as I go, I think hes crazy but then again I'm very new to building boats.

I'm not looking for a handout but some guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Duke
