Seeking Info on 1979 Aqualark Outboard

I don't know if the son of the owner of the old company may know of replacement parts availability...however,it is likely that it cannot be found easily since most all product was probably installed on the hulls. I would not expect overstock availability,and only a junkyard may be able to source it at this time... The component may be reproduced,with the availability of the same part. OR-you may try to create your own...it used to be installed with hinges on each side,and perhaps yours still exists? The hatch used to have swivelling locks to grab the sides of the hull, and its lips matched surrounding the edges of your existing opening... Perhaps even a simple Coleman cooler cover can be used as a replacement-it would surely may a nice seat! Anyway,it is safe to say that a replacement may cost big bucks if someone has it as new "old stock", or else you will need to search boatyards for a "pawn-shop prize". If you are going to make your own creation,remember- Measure Twice, Cut Once...Measure once,curse twice!!! -Good luck-

Thanks for the info--love your idea about the Coleman cooler cover. Top was replaced once when my daughter lost it flying along the lake--second top (replaced by the manufacturer) was lost by the party reconditioning the boat.
Can't wait to get the boat back in the water--Thanks again!

While one idea was the cooler cover,I do suggest a means to keep it from flying open while underway... Another thought is similar to a breadbox,or a secretary desk,with a sliding perforated hide-away panel. It can slide along a track of the interior,probably just from a couple of spare parts available at a hardware store. By making something like this,you do not need to canabalize a nice cooler...or perhaps you can use the entire cooler! Make a purchase to fit the whole that exists. Seems simple enough...keep the cooler intact,and it can be used while sticking up and out of that opening.

The so called "sponsons" that extend past the Watermouse transom are to aid stability, much like a Zodiac inflatable. It is necessary for more floatation,too... The sponson may also provide better draft,more "lift"/floatation. I just looked at the New Zealand bound Aqualark-I really like the color and graphics.

I have decided to disassemble an Aqualark and the components are all in good "restored" shape at this time. I have available a BIMINI TOP and its components,which install right onto the rub-rail of your Aqualark (or Addictor boat,since these are a similar design!)... I also have many lights,navigation,stern,cockpit,and fishing/docking lights,as well as headlights! I have LED lighted switches,fuses,panels,battery consoles,and many other interesting doo-dads...like cushion seating,and a swivel seat atop the hatch...I may sell a bow mounted,foot controlled trolling motor:MinnKota POWER-DRIVE PD40 (though this one can more a 17ft bass-boat,so I may keep it...don't know yet!) Anyway, I decided to make my LARK a "Plain-Jane",just bare-bones really. Thanks so much for your responses! I have sold several components off my Lark, and now the bimini top is also going to a new home. I don't know if the buyer is part of the forum, though I think he spotted my bimini right here... I am still hoping that one day someone will post the original literature,since this is of great interest! As of May 01-2007 I will be manufacturing all the old models of Aqua Lark!!
Under the NEW name of Aqua Hawk by Fiberglass Chicago, Inc.
I will have the whole line up and adding a 10' and 16' to the line up as wel!
I tracked the the guy down who bought and basically stored EVERYTHING from the Aqua Lark company, he had plans to build and NEVER did anything with the molds or plugs. I bought all rights and inventory!!! So AQUA HAWK is coming soon!! I will offer an electric, jet, o/b and the most rare the single seat 3 point hydroplane......this one just starts to get stable at around 75mph!!! Nothing is in production as of 4-14-07 but soon....very soon!

Aqua Hawk... you rock! I am currently restoring an Aqua Lark that is missing its hatch.

Will you have any hatch covers to purchase seperately? I hope so. I, just like Danzima, would love to get my hands on any literature about the the Aqua Lark also.

Oh yeah, by the way, I'm a member of the forum Matt. I bought the bimini top from you and am waiting on its arrival. Thanks for all the advice and info, it is truly appreciated and will be used.

Hey i sprayed up my first Hawk today and the color i took from you.....Dark Green on the hull and Brown on the top...it's the sportsman series line up!!
This weekend it gets a 45# thrust electric motor installed in place where the jet drive would go but a little lower on a aluminum shaft hooked up to a teleflex steering cable and 5 sp. forward and 1 reverse hard wired with an on-board charger and 2- 12 volt 700 amp marine batts. for 5-6 hours of run time on high...not bad...huh?...modern hardware and nav. lights....It's time to introduce the HAWK.....AQUA HAWK

Just some info. The 73 A.L. had a motor rating of 25 hp. I have a 10 hp on it now and am just about finished with the referbish. I am in need of the trim mold and Aqua Hawk said he may have one, go A.H. I will post pictures soon.

I bought the 2 Aqua Larks on eBay, I never have seen such small Berkley Jet Drives in my whole life!
